Inappropriate?I just had a look at your blog in Google Chrome, and I can't see any superfluous code on the page at the moment, so I think you've fixed it. It looks good!
PS I particularly like the photo of the 6 feet (various sizes) at the bottom of the page (29th. August).
I’m cautiously optimistic.
-
Inappropriate?I also have this problem - please someone give an actual fix?
The blogpage where you can see the error is: www.chillichildren.blogspot.com and the html code is below - although this might not come out since this comment 'cleverly' allows html!! ha ha I'm done over again!!:
,
I’m a bit upset - but I also have a cold
-
DrBex: You can post readable HTML here on Get Satisfaction by inserting a space after each opening < .
You might be able to see how Jennifer fixed it by visiting her blog and View[ing] source code in your browser (should be somewhere in your right-click menu if you're using one of the Windows browsers). -
Hi Eridanus, Thanks for your help. I tried looking at her source code but it looked too different from mine to understand. She also didn't have the jQuery line in there but when I try to remove it I lose the whole feed.
If you google the line of code that's showing - it actually shows up on loads of pages so it seems that lots of people have this problem.
Thanks for advice on the HTML display, so using it, here goes:
,< script src="http://twitter.com/javascripts/blogger.js" type="text/javascript">,< script src="http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/chillichildren.json?callback=twitterCallback2&count=1" type="text/javascript">,jQuery("#html_code").val(code_start + code_middle + code_end)
< a id="twitter-link" style="display:block;text-align:right;" href="http://twitter.com/chillichildren">follow us on Twitter,
So if anyone has any advice on what is wrong with the above code i.e. why does it actually display the jQuery line? then please let me know and you'll make a sick person happy!
Thanks

Inappropriate?I've finally found another thread (for which I unsuccessfully searched last night!) which, though it refers to another Twitter badge, may be relevant too:
Random quotation marks? - a problem which appears to have been solved.
I’m happy I found it - even though it might not help much...
-
Inappropriate?I'm blogging here http://pawildwoman.blogspot.com/
It appears to be an identical problem.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I took a look at the code that gets added for the Blogger badge. There's definitely extraneous stuff in it.
To fix the problem, all you need to do is remove the extra code from the widget. Here are the steps:
1. Login to Blogger.com/home
2. Click on the "Layout" link for your blog
3. Click the "Edit" link for the Twitter widget on your blog's sidebar
4. In the pop-up window that appears, remove this entire line from the end of the code: ",jQuery("#html_code").val(code_start + code_middle + code_end)"
5. Also remove the three extra commas in the code, specifically, the comma:
a. after the < /ul> before the < /div>
b. right after the < /div>
c. after the first < / script> and before the next < script>
6. Save your changes and view the blog.
You should see a clean Twitter badge on the sidebar
I’m hoping that helps

Inappropriate?Fwiw, looks like the badge code has been fixed. I no longer see the extra "jQuery" code when I add the widget at http://twitter.com/badges/blogger
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I had that problem and was reading through all the comments and just went to the area on twitter to replace it and it works fine now. So they must have done something at Twit to fix it themselves.
-
Inappropriate?Yay! It works now when I retried to add it. There's now some duplication on mine with the Title but I just deleted the code: < h2 class="sidebar-title">Online News by text message
and all is well. Many thanks - the power of the crowd!!! well done.
Please follow my new twitter: http://twitter.com/chillichildren about my charity.
Still have a cold but have been overdoing it with work and charity and silly online things like this.
Peace and love,
DrBex
I’m happy - but still ill!
