Broken Twitter/Jabber gateway?
Is the Twitter/Jabber gateway broken? I have been trying for weeks to get it re-connected but it always reports that twitter@twitter.com is offline. Useless to me without this...

Inappropriate?Yes, Twitter IM is currently down while they attempt to stabilize the web service and api service. You can check the status of Twitter IM at the Twitter status blog: http://status.twitter.com/
Perhaps you should try a third-party application such as Twhirl for Windows and Mac OS X ( http://twhirl.org ) or Twitterrific for Mac ( http://iconfactory.com/software/twitt... ).

Inappropriate?I use http://identi.ca which posts on to Twitter.
First add update@identi.ca to you GTalk / Jabber / LJ contact list, then go to http://identi.ca/settings/im and add the email that you're posting from.
Then just add your twitter info at http://identi.ca/settings/twitter and make sure you've checked off to post everything on to Twitter.
Works like a charm.
