Can I get SMS updates for just my @replies
I know I can set up SMS to just send me those messages that are sent directly to me but it would be good to also get any replies sent to me. Eg. those marked as @replies.

Inappropriate?hi boagworld,
you can use the 'track' feature. Send Twitter "track @boagworld" and Twitter will track that word for you. You can of course track other words too like "track Cupertino" "track Purdue", etc
FInally, you can send just the word "track" to Twitter and it'll reply back to you all the words you are tracking.

Inappropriate?Oh my, yes. I asked for this feature too (among others): http://gsfn.us/t/7j5
But for now, I'm using the work-around that @thomashan suggested, which works really well... until I hit my 250 / week sms limit, that is.

Inappropriate?hi mdy,
Thanks for informing me, there's a 250 SMS / week limit? I wasn't aware of this.
For clarification, ou mean this as a self-imposed-limit (i.e. your carrier plan, etc.) or Twitter actually caps at sending out 250 SMS / week for an user?
TIA,
thomashan

Inappropriate?People who use the UK longcode can only receive a maximum of 250 sms messages per week.
A detailed write-up is available in Twitter's knowledgebase. 8-)
They introduced it a couple of months ago, if I remember right.

Inappropriate? Can we actually have this feature? As in even if I have disabled Device updates for a certain person, I cans till get @replies from him & others forwarded to my phone.
I’m anxious
-
It was possible before when the Track feature was working. Unfortunately, Track is currently offline and 'needs reworking'. -
Inappropriate?i thought this was already a feature. i can't believe it's not. please can we have it?
I’m hopeful
-
Inappropriate?I don't think the track feature does this. It would if I had SMS enabled for everything, but right now I only have it enabled for Direct Messages. I would like "Direct Messages and @replies" but nothing else. That's not currently possible, right?
-
Inappropriate?Although it would have worked (somewhat) for @replies, track is no longer functional and probably won't be for the foreseeable future unless Twitter surprises us all.
I, personally, have a script that I run that polls Summize (yes, I know...search.twitter.com) for replies and sends them to me via an SMS gateway. It's hokey, but it works...I wouldn't mind sharing the script but it requires a server to run it on 24/7.

Inappropriate? For folks outside the US, Canada, and India, there are also third-party, paid sms alternatives for people who want to receive @replies on their phone.
See http://twitter.pbwiki.com/Internation... for a recently updated list of third-party Twitter SMS services. Note: not all of these third-party sms services support @replies, though. -
Inappropriate?Another option would be a service that sends @replies via email. That could be sent to an SMS gateway, too.
-
Inappropriate? There's now a third-party service called Tweettrak. It uses the Twitter Search API to find all public tweets that contain whatever keyword you specify.
Once it finds a tweet that matches your keyword (if you want to get @replies, then you would ask it to track @yourusername), Tweettrak will send you the tweet as a Direct Message.
You'll need to be following http://twitter.com/tweettrak on Twitter to receive the DM.
You can then set your phone to send you direct messages via sms (assuming you're in the US, Canada, or India)... so that any DM that Tweettrak sends you will be forwarded to your phone.
The best part of this setup -- you don't even have to give anyone your Twitter password, since it all works via direct messages.
