Can I remove @ replies from people I don't follow from my home page?

I'm getting @ replies from people I'm not following when logged in and viewing my home page (twitter.com/home). This is with setting: to show "@ replies to the people I'm following"

I do like catching up on what people (whom I'm not following) have to say, but I'd prefer not to have it in my super-special "people I'm following" stream. Gets noisy.

Bug or feature? Anything I can change?
