Can I sort people into groups?
Is there any way to sort the people I am following into different groups? I'm getting too many to keep track of everything!

Inappropriate?This, in my mind, is Twitter's biggest problem currently. We definitely need to be able to sort people into different groups for mgmt. purposes. Personally I'd have a friends group, a celebrities group and a techie group. With tweets grouped together this way, it'll make prioritizing much easier.
Additionally, groups need to be available via the API. I'm already using TweetDeck to create groups, but having to do this for the 5 different installs of TweetDeck that I have is a pain. If it's in the API, all 3rd party apps could take advantage of this feature.

Inappropriate?i think the way ur splitting the groups is a bit silly, twitter should have groups that are started by tweets. ie the cake eaters group and then tweets can search for groups on a seperate group page that holds all the groups, call it twots or s.ing soz im well running away with myself. but its a bloody good idea................

That's a different idea, but thanks for calling ours silly. In fact, search or hashtags would almost get you to where you want to be, if I'm catching your drift. -

Inappropriate?Tweetdeck now supports syncing of groups, which makes dealing with this much easier, though dedicated group support in Twitter would definitely be ideal.

Inappropriate?I have a different angle on this question, I think. unless it's the same question and i'm not understanding the answer.
I know there are different applications that allow you to divide your followers into groups, but what about if you want it divided in such a way that allows you to tweet to those groups seperately. Am I making sense? I ask because I have my family all on twitter, but now I have people following me from my business. obviously I would tweet much differently to these two groups if I could. is there currently a way to do this?
