Can send, but can't receiveTwitters with T-mobile prepay?

I have a Nokia 6010 on T-Mobile prepay. You can't send to short codes on this phone, but you can send twitters to the +44 number. (I don't send very many, so that works for me) However, I cannot receive any twitters. (Twitter keeps trying to send them and then shuts my device off automatically because it can't reach my phone). It seems to me as if Twitter is sending via the 40404 short code to me, but my phone won't accept it? That is odd because I know I have received messages from short codes before (not Twitter's). Is there any way around this problem? Can you set it so that Twitter sends to you from the +44 number instead?
