Cannot Login Due To Failed Password Resets
Cannot login to account, because Password Reset emails aren't being sent. I haven't been able to login to my account since it was created and I anytime I ask Twitter for a password reset, nothing ever arrives at my email. This has been over a week now that I've posted multiple bugs about in Twitter.com/Help and I'm really starting to get upset with the customer support this company has shown.

Inappropriate?Apparently my password was stolen during phishing. Attempt to change password has failed multiple times. I would like to delete my account and create a new one. Please respond ASAP. mejane2@bellsouth.net
I’m pissed off.
-
Inappropriate?mejane2, bellsouth.net is known to block emails from Twitter because they consider them as spam. I suggest you log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help and in that email provide your username, your account's current (bellsouth) email address, and an alternate email address where they can send your newly reset password.
-
The issue for me isn't receiving my newly reset password. I have to reset it EVERY time I want to login to Twitter. -
Inappropriate?I have had this problem also. I have tried multiple times to reset my password but it will not send the email to my address. I have received notices from Twitter so I know that my provider is not blocking these emails. Why can't any support personnel respond to these problems. I understand it is a free site but they are still providing a service, very poorly right now.
I’m frustrated
-
Marci, if you haven't done so yet, please log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help and in that ticket specify your username and email address. Please also provide an alternate email address just in case.
If you don't receive an auto-generated email confirmation from the support system, there's a good chance that your ISP is blocking Twitter emails... which would explain why the password reset email is not getting to you. -
I have gone and filled out a ticket for this. I have received emails from twitter before with no problem so I do not think it is my service provider. I have seen severalpeople here with this similar problem yet no one seems to come up with any solution other than log a service ticket and then drop it at that. -
I'm having hte same issue and also logged a help ticket. I don't want to create a new account. What bugs me most about this is that I had already reset my password after the phishing fiasco yesterday and all was well. GAH -
I'm ready to scream. Have been trying for weeks to find out my password - I forgot what it is. Finally today I entered a new password which was accepted but still can't access my account, was told user name and password don't match. Come on, someone there must be able to help. This is getting pathetic. -
Inappropriate?Actually, I have been talking to somebody at twitter who responded to my ticket and is responding to the alternate email i sent
-
Did they contact you in return? Or did you have to call them? -
Inappropriate? It appears this is a system-wide problem. All of twitter was hacked today: http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/01/05/tw...
-
That's not the issue at all. This was happening way before the hack. -
Inappropriate?I STILL have not received any sort of tech support or email response from Twitter. This is becoming very discouraging. I would totally delete the account and start with a new one, but the username we snagged is very important to us and we don't want to give it up needlessly.
Will ANYONE at Twitter please help?
I’m furious

Inappropriate?Quintic, if you don't receive password reset emails, there can be two possible reasons:
1. The email address in your Twitter account is either wrong or has a typo (which is unlikely if you've been receiving emails from Twitter before)
2. Your ISP or email provider is currently blocking emails from Twitter or is classifying such emails as spam (especially since a lot of DM notification emails were recently sent out with links to a phishing site)
May I ask -- do you receive the auto-generated email that acknowledges receipt of your support tickets? They usually arrive less than 10 minutes after the ticket is logged.
If you don't receive even the support confirmation emails, then there's a good chance that your ISP or email provider is indeed blocking all emails from Twitter. This means that any replies made by Twitter support will likewise not reach you by email.
For such cases, Twitter has a fallback email address that you can use. It's described in this other thread (click to see). -
1. The address is 100% correct.
2. I receive mail from my other accounts from twitter via my ISP.
I'm blown away by how long this process is drawing out. -
Inappropriate?"Get satisfaction" is more like "Get Ignored".
When will someone help me take care of this seemingly simple issue?
We cannot move forward on our project if this vital piece doesn't work.

Inappropriate?Somehow - MAGICALLY - the reset password form/link worked. I figured I'd try it this morning JUST TO SEE if it worked...and it did.
I'm all set now. I still wish someone would have told me this was remedied. Lord only knows how long this was working while I was frustrated beyond belief on this website.
Well, glad that's over with.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?did you finally get an e-mail or did you find another link?
I am having the same exact issue. It's so frustrating!! -
Inappropriate?just started having this issue. had a few buddies have it yesterday. me thinks someone is playing with the lights off :)
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem too. I have gotten only two stupid form letters, but no password reset link. Why I even need a n ew password is beyond me, since I never changed it.

Can you try entering your username or your email address at http://twitter.com/account/resend_pas... ?
