cannot send DM
Cannot send DM. I select a recipient (or do a reply) and still get the message: You must specify a recipient to send a direct message.

Inappropriate?Hi Ely. If you feel up to experimenting a little, can you try this work-around in the meantime and see if it works for you?
Instead of using the DM page to send a DM, go to your home page at http://twitter.com/home and type (without the quotes):
"d username The text of your direct message"
Note: you need to replace "username" with the actual username of the person you're DMing.
For example, if you are sending a DM to @jill, the text would be:
"d jill Where are we meeting later?" (no quotes) -
This works... It's really uncomfortable replying to DMs that way... -
Inappropriate? Thanks for letting me that the workaround works, Ely.
Since the "d username" format works, I suggest you log a support ticket at http://help.twitter.com, that way someone from Twitter Support can look at your account.
Go to http://help.twitter.com and click the "submit a request" link in the upper left corner (you may need to log in first, that way Support will know which account is experiencing the problem).
In the support ticket, please describe the problem that you're having and please also indicate that sending a DM via the "d username" format works for you.
Fwiw, another work-around that may work, is to go to the profile page of the user that you want to send a DM to, then click the "message username" link in their sidebar. I personally find this method more tedious, but other users prefer it to using the "d username" format.
When I feel lazy, I sometimes click the Reply arrow on my home page and replace the "@username" that appears in the tweet box with "d username" (making sure there's a space after d).

Thanks for the help :) Have a great day -
One more thing... I did not find any way to send a support ticket (or "request" as they call it). Can you send me the link or specific position on the page? Thanks... -
Inappropriate?Sure thing.
1. Go to http://help.twitter.com
2. Click "Submit a Request" in the upper left corner

I would not ask you about such a simple thing....
I already done that and then I was brought to the home page and I did not find a place to enter my request. The only options were to view my existing requests or to browse the help resources. -
Oh, I misunderstood. If you're already logged into the Help Desk, try going to this link: http://help.twitter.com/requests/port... -
Thank you :) -
Inappropriate?I can't put any new recipients in box, only the last one I direct messaged
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I cannot send DM's after my account was hacked yesterday. I get the message "problem sending DM. :-( and yes, the frownie face is on there on tweetdeck. I have not sent too many or any since early yesterday.
