can't turn off status updating inside facebook!

if I understand what you are asking, this is how you do it.

- login to FB, of course :-)
- click on the 'edit' next to the Applications on the left nav, in my case, it's a link like this http://purdue.facebook.com/editapps.php
- find the Twitter application you have.
- you should see a text next to "Edit Setting" that indicates "Status Updates enabled"
- click on Edit Setting and you can then turn it off so it won't auto update your FB status.
