Inappropriate?Cricket doesn't support Twitter's shortcode, but the good news is, we're currently working with them to change that.
In the meantime, I'd suggest contacting them to request that they support Twitter, and using m.twitter.com from your mobile web browser, or perhaps http://twittermail.com/ if your phone can send to email addresses. There are tons of other 3rd party applications for your perusal as well:

Thanks!

I was curious what the status is regarding Cricket and Twitter? -
Sent Cricket and email and they replied back that they have no clue about Twitter or this issue. Hoping that Twitter can resolve this so Cricket users can send text updates too -
Inappropriate?I eventually found a Widset widget for twitter (http://www.widsets.com/twitter) that works on Nokia phones and does not use SMS.... So I can now do mobile updates that way.
I just find it sad that I sent in several tickets to twitter support, and never even got a 'go jump in lake' response back. Anyways, I'm glad you wrote me back, even if I did find my own work-around.
Thanks again for replying! -- Dave

Inappropriate?I have the same problem using Dobson cellular services, formerly cellular one, now transitioning to AT&T.
They support the google shortcode, but not twitters, I have contacted them and they will not fix this issue until after the att transition is complete. is there just a long form number I can use in the interum?
I’m displeased

Inappropriate? This is the way I found to get around the whole twitter/Cricket SMS issue:
Go to www.twittermail.com and sign up to get a dummy email address for your account. Choose to open a new Pic Message (since you can't send a regular text message to an email address for some reason), type in the dummy address into the 'Send to' field (its easier if you save that dummy address into your phone as a contact). Do not upload a pic to the message. Type your twitter update into the 'Subject' field and SEND. Your twitter account is now updated.
I'm so over Cricket right now!
I’m over it!

Inappropriate?I have a business account and need to ping the guys in the field. My Edge Wireless service again doesn't support short codes. They only do ten digit dialing. They should be transitioning to ATT this summer but what a bunch of hicks. I love twitter but think Edge Wireless is a big ho hum.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I am seriously pissed about this. I get a new mobile and expect to link it to my Facebook and Twitter, and guess what? Neither is compatible with it!?!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I, too, would like a 10 digit number for the US. It seems like it would solve everyone's problem with the short code.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? It's definitely frustrating, especially considering I bought the cheapest phone cricket makes, the Nokia Candy Bar phone, I have no idea of the model number, but I wish it supported picture messaging or email. So I'm essentially out of luck since I don't use mobile internet on it.
Oh well. I guess I can only update while at a computer.
Bah. -
Inappropriate? My email works even though I use a Sprint LG Fusic, converted over to the Cricket network. Twittermail.com works for receiving Twitter updates as well.
But no picture messaging or mobile internet. -
Inappropriate? How long will it be before Cricket can get twitter? I'm desperate for that!!!!
I’m frustrated

It will happen when the management (the ones with the big houses and private jets) think more than half of the customer base will go elsewhere if the problem is not solved.

Inappropriate?I will leave Cricket in 60 days if they don't add Twitter support. All in?

Inappropriate?Talk about a massive bummer... i would not have gone with cricket if i had known

Inappropriate?Cricket doesn't support SMS update for twitter or facebook it's so annoying! not only that but the Cricket people keep screwing around with my account and changing things like my payment plans or what service I sign up for and then when I got on them about it I got nice talk to my face but then was charged up to $45 for their mistake!! I was once paying $74 for some bs things I wasn't getting on a "$45" plan when I signed up for a $60 plan then later they lowered it to 64 then to $60. So I said w/e y am I paying for the $60 plan still but not getting what I pay for they said ok we'll update your account & BAM $45 got charged to my account that I "agreed to" in the store but never was told about. I friggen hate cricket they keep ripping me off and changing my account and charging me for stuff w/o telling me about it until it shows up on the bill. Frickin ridiculous!
I’m Extremely Disappointed with my cricket carrier
