how do i request that a message be deleted?
I’m uneasy about the whole thing and need a direct answer, please.

If I understand what you are asking, from the web, you can click on the little trash can icon to remove you message.
But for if your followers' clients (e.g. SMS on phone, Twitterific, IM, etc.) had already received your tweet, then of course it would be too late. What's been read cannot be recalled :-)

Inappropriate?I noticed that on a Mac, deleting messages doesn't work in Firefox. I had to use Safari to delete old messages.

Inappropriate?When I hit the trash can (no matter what browser) I get an error, "Something is technically wrong.Thanks for noticing—we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon." Delete simply doesn't work (tested over a few days).

Inappropriate?Hit the little trashcan when you're on twitter. If it won't work in firefox (which it never does for me) just go through IE.
