delete not working
Deleted an update and got the confirmation. But the update still doesn't delete. (using Flock on XP)

So i'm going to admit that deleting posts are a little buggy. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't; once we improve stability with the upcoming server move, most of these problems will be fixed. I too, have the same problems you do, however, using firefox, i am able to delete some of the messages above for you guys. It doesn't appear to be limited to one specific browser, so in the meantime, just hang tight and if you have any other deleting problems, try deleting the message in an alternate browser, or from a different location (for example, if the update doesn't delete from the static page, try deleting it from the archive, or vice versa.) Thanks!

By the way, the satisfaction popup to sign up is too AJAXy, it seems. I can't fill it out without scrolling down, but once I do, the box disappears. -

I can't delete /any/ of my posts. It's rather strange.
Hmm, I tried in IE, and they delete in IE. I have to wait a while (3+ seconds after clicking "OK" and hearing a distinct "page reloaded"-esque clicking sound) but then they go away! Maybe I was jumping the gun in Firefox.
Hmm, doesn't seem to work in Firefox. My advice to folks it to try IE?

Inappropriate?Thanks, that worked! I tried using IE Tab in Firefox a while back if I recall correctly and that didn't work. I had to use a full-on IE browser and boom, it disappeared.

Inappropriate?I recently discovered the same thing. IE does seem to work, but at home I use Safari and the delete function doesn't doesn't work with that or with Firefox. I hope that changes soon.

Inappropriate?I had this problem too, and I just fixed it. The solution is to enable referrers in HTTP headers.
How to do this in Firefox:
1. Open a tab and type "about:config" in the location bar.
2. In the filter, type "network.http.sendRefererHeader". One property (with exactly that name) should show below.
3. Remember the value of the property (probably 0 or 1) so that you can reverse this change after you've deleted your Twitter updates.
3. Right-click on that property and select "Reset". It should be 2 now.
4. Go to twitter.com and delete your updates.
5. Optionally, you can go back to about:config and change network.http.sendRefererHeader back to whatever it was originally.

there may be a problem when you can't delete older updates from the little screen,so I add the unwanted updates to my favorites,then delete the updates from the "Favorites".. After you delete the tweets from the favorites,refresh your twitter [webpage],it works! Hope this can help you..:)

I can also delete direct messages without any problems, even on https pages. -
Inappropriate?I am having trouble deleting messages. I use Firefox. I found that the post about re-enabling the HTTP Referer: header. I could then delete those message I thought blah.
I always disable Referer: header for personal privacy reasons and I find it bad design that deleting a message doesn't work without it. Given all the ways there are to pass info within a link or form, I don't see why the Referer: should be a requirement.

Inappropriate?Remember too that security products like Norton personal firewall and anti-virus software can be configured to filter out HTTP Referer headers in order to protect people's privacy. So this is not tied to browsers alone. And typically it is a global setting that cannot be tied to on/off based on the web site.

For what it's worth, the problem went away after I logged out then logged back in. I was able to delete again. -
