Deleted my Twitter acct last week for various reasons. Tried to sign up again but Twitter says my email address is in use. Now what?

Did you get an auto-generated confirmation email from Twitter's support system? If yes, then it's just a question of time.
If you didn't get the auto-generated email, it might be worth checking your spam filters just to be sure it's not there. -
Inappropriate?You may be able to use this trick.
It may be worth trying the procedure for restoring your deleted account.
(I'll look up the link later if no-one else gets there first!).
It seems that it can take many days for Twitter to deal with support requests via http://twitter.com/help/ . Requests are processed sequentially, and there is usually quite a backlog.
I’m unsure.
