Did Ariel Waldman break Twitter on 5.23.08?
So Twitter is down again right now... and that should by NO surprise. I'm not going to rant, bash or vent. Twitter being down on a regular basis is now "the norm" and I'm sure that it is only a temporary condition. The engineers are aware of the problem and are recaching the database or something like that.
(This is my audition post for "Twitter Spokes Model." I'm hoping they realize that I'm an excellent communicator and everybody loves me.) Twitter will be back up soon. (I actually have no idea if that's true.) Thanks for your patience.

Hey all,
We discovered a runaway 3rd party client which ate up a bunch of our resources. We've corrected that behavior and are working to get the database back up and running!

Shouldn't there be a way to keep any 3rd party client or other app from using too much of your resources? -
I'd like to know the name of that "runaway 3rd party client" - (a) I don't want to use it unknowingly (before it's been fixed); (b) Twitter shouldn't always get all of the blame all of the (down)time!

Inappropriate?Hey... who is SourJayne and why is she trying to steal my Twitter thunder? If she tries out for Twitter Spokes-Model, she's got a big advantage over me. I am going to have to go FTW based solely on intelligence and charm. I think Twitter's almost fixed now. I see a pot of gold at the end of the Lincoln tunnel.

Inappropriate?What is the ETA for twitter resuming a normal service, being down is bad enough, if we know its going to be another 2 hours then we know it is pointless checking every 10 minutes to see what has changed

I could wait and let someone who officially works for Twitter answer your question, pwbau... or I could take this opportunity to practice again for what I hope will be a job offer from Twitter as their Director of Corporate Communications. Going with the latter, I going to have to say the answer is... how am I supposed to know?
