If you're on Twitter and you disclose your Twitter name, I'l follow you for a while to see how you get on.
I find facebook horribly slow to load anything: by the time it reacts to a mouseclick, I've often forgotten why I'd clicked in the first place.
From my point of view, there's a lot of "junk" on facebook that gets in my way - applets for adopting virtual animals, or throwing virtual waterbombs at friends. Some people want me to 'visit' them there, but I always find the experience exhausting.
When I first heard about Twitter, I was sceptical: how could a social networking scheme based on short SMS (140 instead of the usual 160 characters) possibly be of use to anyone?
I finally joined Twitter because I like Vienna Teng's music, and I heard she (and a few other of her fans) had started posting regularly on Twitter.
Twitter is ridiculously simple to use (when it's working!), and I'm fascinated by the many ingenious ways (most good, some bad) in which it's used.
Twitter is fast though not quite reliable - and I love it (mostly!).
One of my favourite Twitter features is what I informally call metaTwitter - i.e. the website you are currently reading.
