Do deleted updates ever disappear from search.twitter results?
I deleted a couple posts (they had been live for maybe 8 hours, if that matters) but they still show up in search results.
Do they stop turning up in search results after some time?
How? Why? etc.

Inappropriate?I believe the plan is for deleted tweets to eventually be removed from Twitter Search also.
The Twitter Technology blog had a blogpost re: Summize acquisition that says (excerpt):
Q. Will status deletions be correctly deleted from Summize's index?
A. Yup, that's in the pipeline.
I don't know if this has already been implemented, though. -
Inappropriate?This problem has NOT been fixed. I have a deleted post appearing in search that i need Twitter to take off. After over a week of emails to "help" and several messages left at their office number (415) 896-2008, no one from Twitter has respondend. Unexcusable!1 Comment

As far as I know, Twitter doesn't provide support by phone. Instead the recommended process is to log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help (which you may have already done) -

Inappropriate?Unless Twitter has improved since my request 9 months ago, a Twitter employee has to go in and manually delete posts from search. It took over 6 weeks for someone from Twitter to reply to my requests (phone calls, emails, etc) to take a post down. They can do it -as they did for me - just don't expect it to happen quickly.

Inappropriate?Yes, this is a Twitter failure. I posted a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help some days ago, and it was closed but the tweets weren't deleted.
