Hello!
It's likely that Centennial does not support our shortcode yet. Are you able to text HELP to GOOGLE (466453)? If not, please call up Centennial Wireless and request they support shortcodes for your account, Google and Twitter!
Thanks!
Jack.

Inappropriate?I have Centennial Wireless in Indiana and also have trouble. Twitter won't recognize my verification code to 40404. I can sms HELP to the Google shortcode, and most other shortcodes. But not Twitter.
I have found a work around, sort of. I can post to twitter via http://www.twittermail.com/ TwitterMail gives you an email address to send to and they post directly to your Twitter stream. Centennial doesn't announce this widely, but you can email from sms. Enter the email address in the very beginning of the sms, then follow that a with space, then with your message. Send it to 1000 (yes, it's only 4 digits). This will send an sms as email to any address you choose. (Warning: If you email from sms, your mobile phone number will show up in the subject line...but TwitterMail removes the subject and never posts it to Twitter, so your number's safe.) (If you're curious about what your email address is to send stuff to your phone over sms on Centennial, it's this: 10-digit phone number @cwemail.com.)
But I still haven't found a way to receive messages from Twitter on my mobile. The only real interaction there is via TwitterMail is to post. You won't be able to get messages from folks you follow, if that matters to you.
Another cool way to post if Twitter won't let you with your phone's sms is http://jott.com/ a voice recognition app (free or premium) that you call, record your short message and have it transposed to text and then posted to Twitter (or your blog or email or whatever).
Still, life would be mush easier if I could just sms right into Twitter with no workarounds. Any chance of that happening soon?
I’m wishing it was easier

Inappropriate?I tried adding my Centennial phone to twitter a while ago and it never verified. I ported my cell service last week to boost and went to twitter this evening which still showed the same months old code for verification, which I sent from my now boost mobile phone (same number) and it verified instantly. Now I'm dealing with Centennial's 30 day cancellation rip-off.
