Every time I open the Twitter web site, I have to log in again
Each time I go to the Twitter web site, it makes me log in. Even though I checked "Remember me" I have to re-enter my user name and password. This is happening on three different computers and my cell phone browser.

Inappropriate?I, too, am having this problem. I'm using Twitter via the website, Twitterific 3.2, and TwitterFon on my iPhone
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I noticed it only happens when I try to log in on a different machine, then go back to the first. It seems to only be allowing you to sign in with one computer/phone/device at a time now, where it used to allow more. Please change it back to the old way! I have a laptop at home, a desktop at home AND work, and a cell phone and I like being logged in to Twitter on all four.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Wondering when and if this is going to be addressed ... is anyone out there?
-
Inappropriate? It happens for me as well. It drives me batty - if I mark something to keep me logged in, that's exactly what I mean. Please let me stay logged in.
I’m irritated
-
Inappropriate?Happens to me whenever I log in using my phone's browser AND when I use my desktop's browser as well.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I've got the same thing going on, but it's not a matter of being logged in from two different locations (I can successfully log in on my phone and a computer at the same time), but a thing of having to re-log in every time I close my browser regardless of whether I've clicked the "Remember me" box.
I’m annoyed!
-
Inappropriate?I'm getting this but only when I change computers. I can turn this one on and off and it's fine, still logged in, but as soon as I go to work I'm not logged in there (and then I'm logged out again when I get home etc). I see no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to stay logged in on more than one computer, it's up to me to check 'remember me' or not after all.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I'm having the exact same problem. I have three computers, all of which are running internet explorer, and they all ask me to log in every time. Isn't remember me supposed to do just that?
I hope this can be fixed soon. -
Inappropriate?I believe that this is something to do with the settings of the Twitter site. When you log into Twitter a 'cookie' is set on your computer. A 'cookie' is a small piece of info that allows Twitter to recognise your login on the computer you are using. Twitter sets the rules for the 'cookie' which includes how long the 'cookie' should last for. For security reasons (which is a good idea) Twitter only sets this cookie to a certain length of time after which i expires.
When the cookie expires the information inside the cookie which Twitter used to remember your login is deleted.
That is why Twitter will ask you to log in again. It is a security measure. If you logged into Twitter one time and it remembered you forever, IF someone else used your computer and they visited the Twitter site they would be able to log in to your Twitter account as your log in details would be remembered by Twitter on that computer.

"Security measures"..... The same reason my local free-greeting-cards-website makes me have a minimum 12-digit password incorporating a combination of upper and lower case letters, with at least 3 numbers and 2 symbols..... -
Inappropriate?I think this may be related to Keep getting logged out at home when I log in at another location!, which I was experiencing. Not sure if Get Satisfaction allows one to merge or mark issues as dups.
-
Inappropriate?Me too. "Remember me" means "remember me," Twitter. WTF do you have that checkbox for if it doesn't work?
Twitter is so simple, which is part of why I like it. But then it also makes me wonder how it's possible that so many little things like this are always not working. A sophomore studying computer science could fix these bugs. Get on it already...
I’m ticked

Inappropriate? This started again a couple days ago, it's incredibly annoying. My browser's accepting cookies from Twitter, but I have to log back in every single time I close all Twitter pages and open them again.
I’m frustrated.
-
Inappropriate?Same here, cookies are being accepted, but still have to log in every time..
-
hmm, i just cleared the cookies from twitter.com and it looks like it might be working now. -
Inappropriate?I've never had this problem, though I do make a point of having my firefox set up so that when I close my browse window it clears my username and password from Twitter. Prefer it that way as a security measure.
I’m unconcerned
-
Inappropriate?Ok, the problem is fixed. This was happening with all sites. Apparently, it was just a bug in Firefox 3.0.8. An update to 3.0.9 fixed it, but I had to delete the cookies file from my profile folder first. Everything's working great now.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?I'm not using Firefox (Midori/Nokia S60, both WebKit-based) and I still see this.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? This is not browser related, nor is it OS related. I have this problem on Mac and on Windows, in IE and in Firefox.
Would appreciate it if this issue were addressed.

Address? I'd go into shock if Twitter even *acknowledged* it. No response whatsoever. As far as Twitter users are concerned, this entire forum is a complete waste of time, apparently.
But hey, as the old saying goes - you get what you pay for, right? -
Inappropriate?Have the same, still, created a different topic since I first couldn't find this one. http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...
I’m a bit annoyed
-
Inappropriate?I contacted Twitter Help through help.twitter.com, and a Twitter Support person has now replied to me:

Hi ToddPM,
I've been digging into this a bit more and you're absolutely correct. This is a bug and we're going to fix it.
Thanks,
Luke

So I don't know how long it will take to see this fixed, but now we at least know they are aware of it and have said it will be fixed at some point.
I’m cautiously optimistic
-
hope it's fixed soon -
Inappropriate?Guys, thanks for keeping us up to date. I look forward to the fix as well.
-
Inappropriate?I switch back and forth between my laptop and desktop several times a day. This is VERY irritating.
I’m aggravated
