Inappropriate?I have the same problem. Not only that but, I lost over 50% of my followers and, I also auto followed everyone who was following me. I had to manually un-follow people. that is the second time this has happened today.

Inappropriate?Twitter, I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but really, you can not make a bigger mistake than this. Removing everyone I follow and were following me defeats the whole point of your website.

Just started using Twitter again, but have abandoned it now. On top of all the downtime this week, losing 1/3 of contacts from both followers and following lists is the straw that broke the camel's back. I see that other users have lost hundreds of contacts. Who wants to invest time in the platform, and build up such a list, if it can all vanish overnight? Thank goodness I got that Jaiku invite the other day.

It's useful to report your problem in this link, where Twitter explain what's gone wrong. They're working on it, but need your help too (your Twitter username, and whether or not you've recently changed your Devices information). -

Sorry, kelly, for my ambiguous comment on Walker Moore's post. I meant for you and others to visit the link he posted and give Twitter your infos there. That's the main thread on this problem, where Twitter employees are participating too, so it's much more likely to be seen there than here.
