Followers that cannot be BLOCKED!

getting mad. using follow -> followers are blocked, using block -> nothing happens

I am also having this problem. Now I have a bunch of weirdos following me. I block them, it confirms it, then when I go back to my list....there they are.

I'm having the same problem with "NikiL09152" which appears to be some dating site. I try to set this user to block, it says that it does block the user, but they are still on my list.

no crap ya'll get seandcarter off of my folowers list. trash trash trash... enoug to make me never use twitter again... come on fella and ladies... get it fixed. we like twitter for its controls and UI... now fix it plz!!!!

I think the intended fools are indeed blocked, but I cannot get their faces off my followers list, and some of them are rather explicit. Does not bother me. Does bother my spouse of 30+ years however.

I haven`t had this problem before are you sure you have not:

if the spammer is following u go to ur followers and click block underneath there name.

I just found a solution to this issue. Make your updates private, then click on the link to manage your followers. Click the remove button next to the followers you wish to take off your list. You may then make your updates public again, or keep them private, it's up to you.

Dan, thank you. Making my updates private and then removing them worked. Very frustrating to have people who you don't know how they even found you follow you. But this worked except I still have two followers who don't show up but still says "following-2". So I guess I'll look on another thread for hidden followers. But thank you for the help!

You're welcome Steve,This "hidden followers" thing occurred on mine too, I assumed it was due to a lag between removing the followers and the list reflecting this. After logging out and back in, my list was correct. As for people following you, if your list is not set to private you are on the "public timeline", so anyone can see your profile and updates. Spammers are everywhere; half the time it's likely not actually an individual sitting behind a computer who chooses to follow you, but an automated bot which searches and adds accounts indiscriminately.
