following and followers for protected profiles

with a protected profile can i allow someone to follow me but not have to follow them?

I believe there are plans to modify the way protected accounts work, based on the official response from Twitter in this related thread.

However, I think it's safe to assume that for now, development work to restore all services will have a priority than work to modify or introduce new features.

Anyway, I suggest you follow the other thread to stay updated.

thanks for responding to my question and letting me know about the other thread, I must have missed it. I really hope once they get all the development work fixed they can focus on this privacy following issue.
