Forced Following for Spam?
A user @manatee is adding followers (not following) in order to promote their own links, they have been able to add 5,300 followers in the space of 30 minutes (myself included) and I did not approve them

Inappropriate?The same thing happened to me. @manatee somehow got added to the people I follow. I definitely didn't add this person. How is it possible that someone can add me as a follower?

Hey crystal: I filed an issue in help.twitter.com explaining how spammers add followers. Obviously I can't give the direct URL here, but you should find it in your database. -
