Getting stratet twitter on phone via sms from germany?

I wanna use twitter on my phone via SMS. i sent start/START/Start 5 times to the german number, but it never responded ansking to identify myself?! I am currently in germany and O2 is my service provider, which says everytime it delivered the msg sucessfully.
What might be wrong? Anyone else seen this?
