Getting 'this page doesn't exist' error when trying to follow protected twitterers' streams
At the moment, every time I click to send a follow request to someone who's protecting their updates I get the 'this page doesn't exist' error.

May I ask which account you were trying to follow? I'll be happy to try following them to see if I also encounter the same problem.
