Inappropriate? The block function is still there - it has just been moved up from the bottom of the sidebar to above the "Following" pictures. :)

Inappropriate?I think you people are missing the point of twitter. You are suppose to hear everyone and everyone should hear you. Its not a niche social network it's everyone in the world talking together to understand each other. If you are not following someone then it wont be in your feed.
-
@modemlooper Actually no - that's misleading. You forget that people can @reply to you and it will come through to your feed, even if you aren't following them. Trolls can use this to harass you. The only way to prevent them from doing it is to block them or turn off the reply feature for EVERYONE who doesn't follow you. This defeats the purpose. We had a block button a few days ago, and now its gone....TURN IT BACK ON. -
Inappropriate?Uh, modemlooper, if someone is using election2008 feed, they are ALREADY hearing everyone and visa-versa. The point you missed is that soem poeple do harass others by filling up their @reply pages with nastiness. in real life, you *can* take steps to stop harassment. Twitter should be no different in that regard. At the same time, there is a small minority of tweeters who are consistently abusive - which is completley differnt from someone who merely holds different viewpoints. Again, in real life, one can take steps to avoid such people. I have no desire, eitehr online or in real life, to be *forced* to listen to someone shouting to kill someone else, or other such effluviua.
I’m irked
