are privacy filters ever coming to twitter? I want to filter who gets which tweets from me!
I’m curious and hopeful. I'm grumpy faced that the filters don't already exist.

Inappropriate?I think user defined filters will be the single most important development for twitter if it ever happens.
I hadn't thought about it in the way you ask, for out-going tweets, I had only considered for incoming tweets. Interesting thought. -
Inappropriate?Yes! It's the one thing that could draw me away to another app, like groovr (which was just pointed out to me yesterday. I tagged this convo with it in hopes of getting noticed).
Outgoing filters, like on LJ or other blogs. Sometimes I want to blog TMI and sometimes it's public-ish. Sometimes I don't want my whole friends list to know where/what I'm at, sometimes it's okay.
So far ppl answer this need with multiple twitter accounts, which is probably fine from twitter's angle to their investors, but it's a near-critical stop for me. I weed my friends and therefore limit my use of the service, whereas if I had a choice as to who receives which tweets, I'd use it a lot more.

Inappropriate?Yes, that would be great. My boss follows my feed, so I can't complain about her on twitter! And twitter is soooo great for it! LOL
Also, it would be useful to filter incoming tweets, as motownmutt suggested. I get a lot of blip.fm tweets that really annoy me.
I’m frustrated but hopeful that the filters will come true.
