Help! Disgusting Porn link spam disguised as legitimate follow on Twitter

MartinaMontano is the offender here... Looks like a legitimate follow until you approve then they send you a link to a sex site in DM

I have just deleted 3 "followers" that are porn /dating sites. I do not want this kind of service. Is twitter becoming another Craing's list? What or how is this being policed. I worry about children being exposed to this garbage!

I have deleted about 20 followers between my page & my kid's pages. I am furious about this!!! they were actual pornos and naked women that my kids clicked in Do you think that should happen???!! I didnt think twitter was like this!! I'm soo disappointed!! And people sending dirty messages on my page i'm really outrage expecially when my kids are following me!!

I blocked her and am not going to check out the URL as it looks as if it might be a porn site as well. I'm disgusted with this sort of sicko stuff!

I am also disgusted by this use of twitter to spread porn sites. As a school teacher who uses twitter in the classroom, this is a real threat. mine came from SophiaSwanson (Swanson230)

Swanson230 is still not removed. People, you can still click the "block" link on profiles, even if that profile is not following you.

I found out how to fully get rid of those nasty followers, and get rid of the picture as well:

Here's how to get rid of those nasty followers:
1) Go to settings, and click "Protect my updates", then click "Save"
2) Go to your list of followers, and now one of your choices in the little Tool dropdown is"remove". This will get rid of that follower.
3) When you're done, go back & unprotect your updates.

I had to go the their profile to block them and confirm the block. It was the only way to remove them completely. Didn't work from the new "followers" interface.
