Help! my mobile phone provider does not have an smtp gateway.

I can get text messaging over my phone.
i have a desktop app that will send an alarm as an email
but since my cell phone provider does not have a smtp gateway
i cannot make the connection between my desktop app alarm and my cell phone

as a work around....
was wondering if there is a way for my app alert to email me a tweet
which, naturally, I can get to show up on my phone
