Hijacked

Problem id was hijacked out of my control: Yesterday (April 22) I signed up for Twitter user name ebaseballworld. This morning (April 23) I signed in OK, but when I tried to get to my page the user name on the navigation was twitter/ebaseballworld, but the user name on the screen was Nutzhell. I blocked Nutzhell because I had no idea who that was. Later when I tried to log in I was not able to and still am unable to log in. I requested password reset instructions both using my id and email and have not received anything. Was I hijacked? How can I get my twitter id back and under my control. Is Nutzhell being malious or is this just a flux?
Four Hours Later: Update on Hijacking: I have finally been able to access my account using my id and password. However once there I found activity I did not initiate for following and being followed etc. I closed my account, but would still like to know what happened and how someone could so easily take control. Since this was a new account, I did not have much information there (who I was following and who was following me) but am concerned about the security on Twitter. I would like to open a new account, but would like some assurance on this hijack issue.
I have twice received the "Your request has been deemed solved." response. Can anyone answers my concerns that I mention above.
I also seemed to have complicated this issue by closing my account but saw no choice at the time.

    Hi Markg7 -

    Myself and another Kayes have the same problem and it is all around the same timing - April 22nd. I have written Twitter support which appears to be automated more than 50x with the details below. Looking for support from a real person not an automated response, hoping @crystal sees this as she is the Twitter guru from what I can see on the web.

    @foxadam

    -------------------------------------

    On April 22nd around 8:15am EST I signed up as @foxadam. The first problem I had was that I could not upload my photo which apparently is an ongoing issue. I tried several versions from JPG to PNG, to GIF and with sizes ranging from 80k - 700 kb which they tell you is the range to upload on the support page. I kept getting the "Nice picture" and then "The file was too big".

    At around 10:30pm on April 22nd, I posted a complaint and looked for support on one of the support strings about the photo upload issue, and while in the middle of writing to support, I clicked on my "home" and then "profile" tab, and noticed that I was in someone elses account who was named "Adam Fox" like myself. All of my followers, and those I was following had been removed. Instead, there were tweets and posts from "Adam Fox" to only one follower, named @brettlarson and the two had had communication back and forth. Then all of a sudden, I was locked out of my account, and I kept getting the error message that my password and username didn't match. I followed the procedure to reset my password, but it kept re-sending me the password instructions. I wrote to support about all of the issues, up until about 11:30pm EST and then went to bed. I wrote to restore@twitter.com and support@twitter.com both of which immediately wrote that my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.

    The next day on April 23rd at 6:15am EST on April 23rd, I could in fact get into my profile, but it was still without my followers, and still only had
    @brettlarson, who is someone I don't even know. It appears as though they mixed up my profile and someone else was using my @foxadam username. I wrote several more support requests, but no response. To be proactive, I deleted @brettlarson, and deleted my account with the intention of restoring my @foxadam profile to normal. Now when I put in my email or my user name @foxadam I am sent an e-mail to restore. When I wrote to
    restore@twitter.com I received a response which immediately wrote that
    my problem was resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I
    still can't log in.

    I assumed my account might have been suspended as I tried to log in
    about a dozen times last night with no success so I wrote to
    suspended@twitter.com today and received a note that my problem was
    resolved, and to see or update I could log in, but I still can't log in.

    Considering I had only been on twitter a couple of days, and after about 50+ emails with no response, and several hours of frustration, and problems, I sent a simple request to Twitter support to please permanently delete @foxadam and let me know, so I can start over from scratch.

    In response, I get the automated e-mail telling me about how to delete, how to change my password, etc . . . The annoying thing is that I can't log into my account. When I try to restore, I am in the loop as mentioned, and when I get to try to log in after restore, I get a "page does not exist". I can't start over with a new account because it says my e-mail is already in use. My friends / followers that I met on April 22nd see my profile, but says "page does not exist". I asked twitter support to manually delete my e-mail and user name, so I could sign up and get a bunch of automated responses with no luck.

    I too am looking for support from @crystal or one of the techs at Twitter to see how I can resolve this mess but apparently no one has been able to help after my 50+ e-mails.

    Very frustrating, thankfully facebook has a solid, real-time, support team to avoid such issues, but I want to clear up the Twitter mess as we were trying to launch an online social community for work, and I work with one of the largest tier-one north american consumer packaged goods firms in marketing.

    Please advise,

    @foxadam

    Sending spurious tweets from my twitter account to my followers. Garbled msg with a link (which, I strongly suspect, should not be clicked on). Plus, I get messages that my password is trying to be changed and sometimes it succeeds as I cannot get into my account until I change the password back.

    Has this type of thing been seen before?

    Yes, I have had this happen to me. AND I have also had someone take over a twitter account and I have NOT been able to get it back. What's up with that? Does Twitter even have real customer service?

    sad I’m totally sick of the lack of CS here.
