How can I embed text of last twit on my blog, but not as a list item?

I want to insert my last twit into my blog, but the badge script made available by twitter only seems to make it available as a "list" element, even if you're only display one item, forcing unwanted line feeds/carriage returns in the page. How can I just get the "plain text" of my last twit to embed anywhere on the page?
