How can I use hash tags to find and read posts on a topic?
How do I use hash tags to read aggregated comments? For example, folks attending the IABC conference tag their posts with #iabc. I'd like to read those posts, whether I follow the posters or not, as a group. How do I do that?

Inappropriate? You can follow the "iabc" hashtag over at hashtags.org. Here's the direct link for that tag: http://hashtags.org/tag/iabc/
May I also suggest Summize. Summize is a tweet search engine. It will search the full contents of tweets (including hashtags), so those who aren't using hashtags can also have their tweets found if they mention iabc in their tweet. Check out Summize at http://summize.com/
I’m happy to help.

So Twitter itself does not offer a real use of hash tags as a way of reading posts? -
Twitter does not. However, Summize has been acquired by Twitter within the last month, so it's now Twitter's main search engine so it technically does. -
Inappropriate?is there a plan to be able to follow a search string/topic just like you follow a person in the near future?

Inappropriate?Today I learned the hard way how to do this.
Go to Twitter's Search page; here:
http://search.twitter.com/
In the text box I typed the hash topic, for example #LAFIRE.
And TA DA !!
I’m happy to share.

Inappropriate? If you use TweetDeck, you can create a "search" column for your desired tag, and it will work very much like you're following it. It works well.

Inappropriate?Great post! For this very reason I started http://hashmarksthespot.com/, a directory for # entries. I caught on pretty quick to what they were, but didn’t know what some of the acronyms meant. Hope you find it useful!
