Inappropriate?No there isn't. If someone tweets and you want to get that via e-mail, you need to look at an RSS-to-email service such as Feed My Inbox. http://www.feedmyinbox.com/
To get updates from only one user, you'll need to add their RSS feed. For example, when I go to my profile, the RSS link that Firefox picks up looks like this: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_time...
If that site is unsatisfactory (I haven't tried it), Google RSS-to-email and you'll find more services.

Inappropriate?Thanks, Kat. That's what I suspected. Too bad, if Twitter did send out (optional) e-mail alerts, like Facebook, it would be a lot more useful.
