How do I get an @reply on my cell phone?

Sorry but a bit of clarification. In the settings its all, none, or to those you follow. Not specific persons.

Your suggestion of track yourusername works for some who have unique usernames, but mine is @derek, I tried it once, and my cell phone blew up. It seems silly that I can't have messages directed at me sent to my cell phone. I miss so many replies to txt messages I send out because of this cause in order to check them i have to log on via the website from my cell phone just to check to see if anyone has replied.

Derek, fwiw, I believe there are plans to enhance track so that it recognizes the @ sign. For the moment, it does not, so when you send 'track @derek', track actually only tracks the word derek.

Once they enhance track to recognize the @ sign, you'll be able to properly track '@derek' in which case you'll only get tweets if someone puts an @ in front of your name, and you won't get tweets that only contain 'derek'

There's no announced timeline as yet for when these enhancements will be made, though. I suspect that stabilizing the site and restoring IM will continue to be the top priority.

Another question I get is how to get the equivalent of the Replies tab (@replies to you, especially from people you don't follow) over SMS. The work-around for this (for some people) is just to Track your name. E.g., I send 'track ev' and get a message every time someone mentions @ev.

This is not ideal, because Track currently ignores the "@" symbol, so if you have username that is common, you'll get lots of irrelevant stuff. We plan to fix that. (Also, yes, we will get the replies tab on m.twitter.com. Soon.)

That's perfect. I think utilizing the track function for @reply tracking is the right way to go. Given all the issues they are currently sorting through, just as long as there is at least a plan for that, I think I can wait. =)
