How do I get email updates for people that I'm following?
I would like to receive email updates in addition to IM and SMS updates for people I am following. Is this possible?

Inappropriate?It is possible but not through Twitter.
You'll need to use an RSS to Email service, which is a service that converts entries in an RSS feed into email messages.
You just need to make sure that you use the correct RSS feed:
1. Login to Twitter and go to your home page -- http://twitter.com/home.
2. Click on the Recent Tab (if you're not there yet).
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll find a little box there labeled "RSS." The URL will be of the format:
http://twitter.com/statuses/friends_t...
4. Copy the URL of that link and feed it into one of the RSS to Email services, and that should do the trick.
