How do I get Twitter to NOT shorten my URLs?
How can I force either twitter's website, API, or various clients to NOT shorten URLs in a tweet?
I've heard of a 30 character limit, but that's not reliable - there are plenty of tweets that sometimes have full URLs, even over 30 chars, and some that don't. I've seen people RT messages where sometimes the URL is normal, and sometimes shortened, and it seems random which way is which. It doesn't seem related to message length, either.
Why, oh why, do you do this randomly to me, Twitter? Otherwise, you're great, but you're really failing on this one. Well written URLs often have meaning when read by themselves: always (randomly) covering this up with the latest "cool" shortener is a disservice to users.

Inappropriate?You have 2 options:
1) Post short URLs that are less the 30 characters and have mostly alpha numeric characters.
2) Shorten it yourself so you can control what the shortened URL looks like.
Some times if the URL shortening service Twitter users is slow they will skip shortening it.
I’m unconcerned
