Inappropriate?Option 1:
Instead of going to your followers page, put the follower's name in the search box on your home page. When twitter brings up the search result, you can click the remove button there.
Option 2:
Click the person's name on one of their twits. That will take you to their page. You can click the remove button from there too.

Inappropriate?oh i thought that only removes them as my followee, not my follower. thanks!
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Since you've now tagged your account as private, only people that you follow have access to your updates. So in this instance, Kathy's advice is the right way to go. Once you've stopped following them, they can't see what you've written.
The other way to stop people from following you is to Block them, although that is a more drastic approach. ;-P You'll find more information on Blocking in Twitter's online help: http://help.twitter.com/index.php?pg=...
I’m happy

Inappropriate?worshiptt, if you click on "following" on the person's Twitter page, that box will expand and you can choose the Remove button. Like so:
I’m hoping this helps

Is not easy to put all exclude list since I'd know which users to exclude and scare to use this service as wrong doing all my follows gone, anyhow thanks. -
Inappropriate? When your profile is public then temporarely change it to private, delete followers (is possible when you have your setting set to private) , then after deleting change it back to public ...

Inappropriate?I'm having this same issue.
THERE IS NO REMOVE BUTTON -- I wish it was as easy as Eric's helpful illustration... when I click on Following on the person's Twitter page no option box like he shows appears.
Very frustrating. My only option to get rid of the 15 people who were automatically in my following list in my new account is to block them. this is not an ideal situation.
Help, anyone?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Eric, thanks for helping me.
I see that little sunburst to the right of following on the person's Twitter page but when I click on it, -- or clck on Following -- nothing happens. No submenu appears.
Hmmm. -
Inappropriate?Thanks, I've a try hope it's work.

Inappropriate?Sounds like a browser error. This may be a new feature, so it may be that your browser isn't treating that drop-down list correctly. They may need to fix this bug.

Inappropriate? Thanks, Eric. I'm running WIndows Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702. Hope somebody from Twitter will see this.
