I cannot upload background images regardless of the browser I use.
I cannot upload a background image of any kind. I've tried using a different browser, but had the same problem. When I push the 'save changes' button, the screen blips and says my changes are saved but the background stays a solid color (the last color used from twitter's background options). Please help.

Inappropriate? Are you trying to put a personal image or wanting to just change the background itself. If you are just wanting to put a different random image you can go to twitter.webfetti.com if you find the one you like and click post to Twitter. You can check out mine http://twitter.com/NeverAgain_39

Inappropriate? Thanks for the response Ronnie. Fortunately did not need to go that far. My Design feature started worked again, all by its lonesome.
-
Did you contact help/support on twitter or did it just start working on it's own? My design feature also seems to be malfunctioning. -
Inappropriate?You're welcome Tito.
It just worked right off with me Kimberlee. I tried a few different backgrounds from the other site and some off of my computer. I did notice if I change my avatar picture it takes a while to show up. Did you wait for a few minutes or try to change it back right away? That's one reason I downloaded TweetDeck it's a different application than a browser it opens like a dashboard and you can use your browser with TweetDeck running in the background. It gives you a tweet sound and a message pops up in the top right corner telling how many tweets it was and who sent them. I turned off the who sent part because it took up a little more space.the default setup for it is you have 4 sections on it, which you can change if you want, the 1st section is the Tweet feeds,2nd is Mentions showing the messages that mentions your name,3rd is Direct messages to you ,and 4th is TweetDeck recommends it refreshes the recommends and gives you a different set every so often. There is Authors,Screenwriters, and all different kinds of things you might want to follow. You can change it around to suit you. It even has Myspace and Facebook updates you can use on it. Try it out it's free and I love it.
But you cant change a background on it you can just change the color of the windows and letters. -
Inappropriate?I have two different accounts with Twitter and I managed to change one background image with no problem, but the other one is just not responding. I tried everything, different browser, change the image size..but still not working.
I’m getting quite annoyed

Inappropriate?I have the same issue too. Not only the bg image is not showing up.. it's not resizing neither like it used to.. very frustrating..

Inappropriate?Same problem as well, for two weeks now. Browsers, resize, all have the same result- 'changes saved' with no change in background.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Same problem for me. When I played and did get a background to upload, it becomes HUGE so doesn't work.

do you have anything you can edit the background like a photo or paint program? Does it say what size it needs to be? Let me know and I will try to help. You can follow me on Twitter http://twitter.com/NeverAgain_39. I will try every way to help that I can. You have to have it no larger than Images must be smaller than 800k. GIF, JPG, PNG. < and make sure they are -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem. Tried uploading the background for probably the 10th time just a moment ago. No luck! I know my image conforms to the requirements... it's a PNG and it's only 35KB. I have noticed that Twitter thinks it uploaded the image because the "page source" of my profile page refers to my image as the background. However, my browser tells me the image is 0px by 0px and the file size is unknown, so clearly nothing was uploaded. Hopefully they fix it soon.
I’m a little frustrated, although it's not a complete crisis.

Inappropriate?Same issue here. No idea how to fix and no info on Twitter FAQ or support pages. Boooo!

Inappropriate?I am so frustrated with not being able to update my background! Not only does it not update, but sometimes it uploads the background image from my personal twitter account which is an entirely different log in from my business twitter account! Geez! I had Safari - Firefox - and Flock open all at the same time. I would try to upload the image to one, then the other, then the other. I did this for over an hour. This is a terrible flaw in the personalization program with the site. FIX THIS PLEASE!

Inappropriate?By the way, I just noticed that Twitter 'MONITORS' but is not 'ACTIVE' in this community on Get Satisfaction. Sounds like a lame business model for twitter to me. What's the point if Twitter customer service representatives are not involved in the maintenance of the site and the program.
Get it in gear you guys at Twitter! What happened, did you get too big for the individual customer?!!!!!

I think I figured out how to solve this problem, Bob! When you save your background image on your computer (in my case I save it after I create it in Photoshop), be sure and save it as a small or medium sized image. Make sure it isn't taking up a lot of space.
When I reduced (not the size) but the properties of the image to be smaller, the background popped right into Twitter.
For instance, when you are in Photoshop and click "Save As" to save your image as a jpeg, a box will pop up that you can scroll 1-12, 12 being the highest resolution and a larger file (this does not affect the dimensions of the image), I put mine down to 7 then I clicked "Save." The image file size is smaller - not the dimensions of the image.
The background image popped right into Twitter with no problem. Then, when I realized I had to make changes to get the background to fit like I want it, again I saved it as a smaller file and each time, the background image popped right in.
Try it and let me know if this works for you - and everyone else too!

Inappropriate?Susan,
Thanks so much thats awesome that you figured it out!
Can you tell me what is the actual dimensions that you are using for the image size ?
I am wondering if Ive also scaled it to big for the screen.
Bob -
Hi Bob - it is (Width) 1569 x (Height) 949 pixels
I know, strange dimensions, but hey, it worked.
Susan -
Inappropriate?Or 14.5 inches by 11 inches.....
Save any image to paint/photoshop whatever image service you use. Resize to the appropriate format and upload. Remember this often fails when Twitter is reaching capacity.
If you are UK/Europe make changes in the morning!!!

Inappropriate?i think the problem might be the picture size you want to upload is too big, because i had that experience too when I tried to upload the picture I took directly from the camera, but later it worked when I just used the screenshot version.

I’m feeling I'm very helpful
