I can't delete tweets, trash can isn't showing up.
The trash can isn't showing up on my updates. I need to delete one of my updates due to a spelling error, but I can't. Please help.

Inappropriate?I see Twitter says they will be fixing the problem. When and if they do, where is this "trash can" seeing as I'm new to Twitter and would like to delete some duplicate posts (although I understand they are still lurking around on Twitter).

The trash can icon would be on the right side of your tweets when you hover over them on the home page. -
Ah, coz when I "hover" over my previous updates on the right side I see a star. Is that the right location to look for a trash can when it does get back working?

Inappropriate?It appears that the Deleting Posts function (i.e.the trashcan icons) was temporarily suspended to help ensure Twitter's stability during the USA's Election Day fever.
On their Twitter Status page, Twitter state:
This function will be back in all its glory tomorrow.
(whenever "tomorrow" starts in their time zone ;)

Inappropriate?Whew! I figured this was the case, since I noticed it disappeared during the US election hubub. The text I sent during that time took three or four hours to reach my twitter account! :P But the servers stayed up, so good job. -

Deletion was temporarily turned off to cope with the USA's Election Day traffic (5 Nov 2008).
That "problem" was solved by re-enabling deletion the following day, once the election fever had died down.
Today's problem (12 Nov 2008) is a new one, which - according to a recent announcement - is likely to die down over the next few hours. -

Inappropriate?Looks like message deletion is officially back. Was able to delete messages again. Yay!
