I can't log in using Tweetie on my iPhone
I keep getting a login error telling me to check m username and password. I can log in using my computer and Safari on my iPhone. Another account can log in on my iPhone with Tweetie, so it seems to be the unique combination of my account and phone. I had another log in problem with Twitterfic Lite. It said there were too many requests and couldn't access the server. I cannot log in to my account using Twitterific on another iPhone, so again I am left to wonder if there some problem with my account. I have changed my password to only include lowercase letters without numbers or other characters. This seems to be a server-side bug but any suggestions or direction is appreciated.

Inappropriate?So if I understand correctly:
First account
1. using PC, safari on Twitter website = OK
2. using iPhone, safari on Twitter website = OK
3. using iPhone, Tweetie = Not OK
4. using iPhone, Twitterific = Not OK
Second account
1. using iPhone, Tweetie = OK
Did I get that right? If yes, then it seems that you have problems with third-party apps when it comes to the first account. This can happen if you have reached the API limit (or your API limit is not correctly resetting) for the first account. The limit is 100 API requests per user per hour.
Can you (on your PC browser) try going to http://twitter.com/account/rate_limit... (you'll need to login with your first account's username and password) and see how many hits are remaining for your first account?
My own account has these results (so you know what to expect):
<hash>
<reset-time-in-seconds type="integer">1230886341</reset-time-in-seconds>
<remaining-hits type="integer">100</remaining-hits>
<reset-time type="datetime">2009-01-02T08:52:21+00:00</reset-time>
<hourly-limit type="integer">100</hourly-limit>
</hash>
If remaining-hits = 0 then it means that you've used up the 100 API requests per hour that's allotted to that particular account, and you'll need to wait until the specified reset-time (which is expressed in GMT, so you'll need to convert to your own timezone) before you can use any third-party app again. The main Twitter website does not use the API, so there's no limit there
A few users have reported that their API remaining-hits number does not reset even after they've changed their passwords to something completely new (to lock out other third-party apps), and even after waiting for an hour before they check their rate_limit_status.
If your case is like that, I suggest you add your name to the list of users at this other thread (click to see) -
Inappropriate?Ironically, I have the same problem using the account 'tweetie' in Tweetie. I added my info to the other thread.

Inappropriate?There's also a related discussion regarding this in the Twitter Development Google Group (where the API developers hang out). See http://groups.google.com/group/twitte...

Inappropriate?I had the same problem as well. All I did to get back on my 3rd party twitter acount (tweetie) was reset password to the original password you made when you first signed up with twitter. Youll have everything back. Worked for me and my iPhone tweetie.
