I hate porn spam but apparently Twitter does not.
Is it okay to bombard Twitter users with porn spam with as long as it's not child porn? I found out I was being "followed" by a person I don't know. The spammer in question had "followed"437 other people in order to spread her filth throughout Twitter. I am fairly new to Twitter and checked her page since I didn't recognize her name and found that it was full of disgusting graphic details about what she wanted to do with men. I came to the support site and read the terms of service and found out that only child porn seems to be taboo here. http://twitter.zendesk.com/forums/262... I blocked her and I wrote to Twitter customer service. I got an inane reply from support@twitter.zendesk.com (Ticket #381027: not child pornography but d...) about how to add Twitter on Facebook-- a reply which completely ignored my reason for writing. I wrote back that I was not satisfied with their answer and with the scenario of being spammed by a porn site.
Twitter's official stance is "Twitter removes content promoting child pornography." However, that is not good enough. I wrote in my original letter to the help desk that I left Myspace when it became trashy and use Facebook because so far, it's not, but that if Twitter thinks any porn is okay unless it's child porn, I will be deleting my Twitter account. This is my last effort to get Twitter to reconsider and make Twitter a more family-friendly environment. I have no desire to look up who has "followed" me and stumble upon/ read the kind of filth I saw posted there.

Inappropriate? This is pissing me off too. I mean children are on this site. So to me it IS Child porn (well at least they are exposed to it) and I hate this. Can they stop this? I mean they could if they wanted to by appoving pics before they are posted. many sites do that. I guess they don't want to work. Just sit back collect money and don't care that children are exposed to this crap. Twitter. Shame on you!!!!!

Inappropriate?I'm a mom whose kids sometimes are on the computer with me, I don't like opening my twitter account and seeing a picture of a naked woman with the post "I'm horny, let's fuck". I would like to block all posts with the word "fuck" or any other word I choose. This doesn't seem like a hard thing to do - just turn on a filter for my account...

Inappropriate?I, too, just had to check the name in an email which I didn't recognize - hard-core porn. Get me out of this. I mean, I want to quite Twitter altogether. There are jillions of other ways to communicate, so either clean up your act or advertize yourself as a porn site.
Disgusted old lady - but I've been there, done that, and can easily recognize it for what it is!
I’m MAD

Inappropriate?I wholly agree, some of this stuff is really nasty and it is relectless. It's not a simple case of 'a user' with a 'mature' account, it's nearly always the same couple of mass spammers - like kitty, abegale, britney - with a random name and usually with naked, even obscene profile image.
And it's not simply one or two, but hundreds of them at a time. Up the the point where so many people are angry and complaing it become a trend. I personally refuse to accept that you cannot detect and mass purge this sort of inappropriate spam.
When you see - as you must - 100 even 500+ accounts called (say) 'dirty kitty' all with like 100:1 follower ratio, all pointing to a porn site, all with random names like sgsdgf or sexyanna3222, sexyanna3424 etc - why do you turn a blind eye?
You know what I'm starting to believe - and many others I've spoken to are starting to agree - that you tolerate this torrent of filth and all the other spam because it artifically inflates your popularity. It reads better in the press if you have 32 million users rather that 3 million users and 29 million spam bot account (figures are wildy made up, of course).
Personally, I can see no other reason for you not only to tolerate this behaviour, but to actively give the spammers the tools to mass scrape up names for following. Most of the spam that isn't porn is of the 'get 400 followers a day' variety.
Disgusted with Twitter over this. No way would I ever let my teenage children have accounts on here as you clearly care nothing about morality

Inappropriate?I hate it when porm people follow me!! yeah it can be blocked but it's so stupid to block EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Twitter should be monitoring these people, and they should NOT have a twitter account. I get atleast 4-5 each week that try to follow me! That is PATHEDIC!! There needs to be a solution to this problem ASAP!!

Inappropriate?I keep getting a porn site following. It's the same person, same porn, same profile picture, but the name is changed each time to just "letters". This time it was "vbfcyjapkkqw". The last one was a different set of letters. She has an endless supply of twitter names as I see it. I am keeping tract of this so-called low-life "person" who wants to peddle her sick tweets. As I read it, porn is against Twitter rules. I am suggesting that people boycott twitter. We need to get this started. I will tell my tweet friends. Most of my followers are physicians and/or other professionals and do NOT want this garbage on their pages. Pass the word along. We can shut Twitter down if they don't want to police their social networking. There are OTHER social networks out there.

Inappropriate?Count me in. I just signed up yesterday and the very first Tweet I received was porn. I'm a Christian man, and porn/lust is an area of great struggle for me. But I'm also a corporate communications (PR, MR, etc.) consultant, and it is absolutely essential that I know and use Twitter (I shouldn't have waited this long). And T., don't spew any 1st Amendment/FOS crap. Other sights ban things and you can too. Weigh the risks and benefits. If you don't see that the negatives heavily outweigh the positives, you've got a problem. As some sporting goods company says, "Just Do It."
I’m TICKED OFF!

Inappropriate? Please address this ASAP, Twitter! Thank you very much. This is quickly getting out of control.
