Ignore tweets/twitterers in a # topic/forum?
Often in a #topic forum, there are people spamming unnecessarily.
Take for example the # mumbai forum currently. A lot of unnecessary conspiracy theories and red herrings were being thrown, and a lot of self-publicity tweets too bombarding the forum.
If there were a simple button, block/ignore this user from all future #topic tweets, which would not update my view with the user's tweets, it would work, no?

Inappropriate?http://help.twitter.com/index.php?pg=...
I had the same question. They call the feature "block" not ignore.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I know about the block function. I wanted to know how to do it with a # topic. I tried blocking a user, but the tweets still show up in the # topic, though they don't appear in my time line.
How bout that?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? If you're using Twitter Search at http://search.twitter.com, you can have the search results exclude messages from a particular user by typing "-from:username" as one of the search parameters.
For example, this search: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23mumbai+-from:streetanchor returns everything with the hashtag #mumbai but excludes all posts from the user "streetanchor"

Inappropriate?Actually, it would be great if search.twitter.com applied the user's twitter.com ignore list as a block filter automatically. (When there is a job advertising with tens of posts at the same time that's really annoying.)

Something tells me that's pretty hard to build. The search algorithm probably does not use your personal settings for performance reasons.
