I'm having a problem with my txt updates

My phone number is registered with my account, but everytime I send a txt update I get the "Welcome to Twitter" txt in return. When I go to delete my number from my account, it says there's no number to delete, and when I try to login with the "already used phone number" feature, it says that it can't be found. Is there anyway I can fix this?
