I'm not geeting any tweets via IM
I can see my tweets on the web, and I can write tweets from IM, but I haven't got any tweets on IM in days.

As of right now, the Jabber/Gtalk service is not available. We've been working on this but have not made as much progress as on the missing update issue. While Jack's suggestion of reconnecting may help, there are more fundamental issues that need to be fixed. And we're working to do that now.

Hi guys,
We had some trouble last week with Jabber/IM. This week it should be fixed. The missing updates in IM may have to do with the other missing updates on the web, etc. We're researching this presently, and will keep you posted.
Damon: we did stop supporting AIM, but hopefully we'll have it again soon.

Hey folks,
Our IM bot is sometimes forgetful. Occasionally, if you notice things aren't working, try logging out and back in again. This creates an event which our bot notices. It's kinda like restarting your computer; sometimes things get lost and need to be reset temporarily to a clean state.

Send ON in the IM window, and you should get a confirmation from Twitter that notifications are on. More commands you can use are here:

From your orig question "... I haven't got any tweets on IM in days..." Does this mean that you have gotten IM before, but it stopped?
For sake of clarification, Just to make sure, you have notification turned on for certain people you follow? By default, when you follow someone, it doesn't have notification turn on.

Inappropriate?Yes, I was getting IM notification just fine. The last tweet I received from IM was on 2/1 at 8:33 AM EST. Then they just stopped. I have not changed my notification preferences for anyone I follow, and checked a few just in case.

I just remembered that I've seen this on another thread long time ago. Someone had the same problem and they remove/delete the IM device and then re-add it back.

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem, only doing the delete/re-add process only seems to fix it for a day or two, then things go black again. Oddly enough, the other commands work (stats, help, etc). Sending ON doesn't fix it either. This has been happening for the last 2 weeks or so. Twitter says they've cleared my cache (how would I know?).
Web and Twitteroo work fine, just IM is broken.

Inappropriate?i've had this problem for a long time. i gave up on it months ago. At one point I thought they dropped AIM support because it wasn't working. But I think they think it is working now.
Btw: I've removed the IM settings many times and re-added them. It never helped.

On a side note - on the screen where you enter your IM, it always says "send updates to: twitter@twitter.com", regardless of what your IM is actually set to (for me, anyway). This is horribly misleading. -

Inappropriate?Well I've signed out of Google Talk and back in again many times in the past and it doesn't help. Sorry to tell you that. If it were that simple it wouldn't be that annoying.

Inappropriate?The updates have stopped for me again, two days after resetting my IM info with Twitter. Logging in and out of GTalk doesn't help. What's happening?
Also, I just reset the GTalk info in my account, and re-verified. Updates are still not rolling in. In fact, now Twitter isn't even responding to my "on" messages either.

Inappropriate?Yeah, looks like things failed for me as well overnight. Interesting twist - I usually hibernate my system overnight. When I "woke" it, Trillian reconnected to all the services (including Jabber), but Twitter was not on my Jabber list. I had to disconnected/reconnect to get Twitter to show up. Now, it's not even responding to "stats" or "help". Tried re-adding it in Settings and sent it the secret code, but still nothing.

Inappropriate?Hi Crystal, glad you're still with us in this thread. My Twitter username is natetrue - I don't think I've put it on this thread yet. The bot is definitely responding to direct commands now, but has not sent one update in the last 5 days, except for ones grabbed explicitly with the "get" command.

I turned GoogleTalk notifications back on this morning to see how it was behaving - the bot responds to commands but I've had fewer than half of the updates on IM that I should have had (compared to the updates I've seen in Twitterrific)...

Two things you can try:
1. Log out of chat, and log back in. (not out of gmail, just chat.)
2. Remove the Twitter buddy and re-add it.
Sometimes we need you to refresh your presence information, and those are the two ways to do it.

Inappropriate?I haven't had any Jabber service for over a week, maybe two--twitter not even showing as online. I just completely removed it from both sides, re-added it, re-verified, and it worked...for about a minute. Back to no-see-twitter-online-at-all.

Inappropriate?I logged out of Gtalk/chat, removed and re-added my Twitter buddy and restarted Adium for good measure. Twitter shows as online, but no updates. I'll see if any come along in the next day or so.

Also removed twitter contact and re-added...but still no IM's happening. It's been nearly 4 weeks now that I haven't seen a message come through.
