Inactive Twitter Account - How Do I Get it?
I am trying to contact an owner of a twitter account to see if they'd be willing to give up their username but they've never tweeted, have no followers and follow nobody. Is there a way to get such an account? I own a domain associated with the name and would love to secure it. I have seen in other threads that you have a 9 month rule whereby if an account has not been used you release it - is there any way to submit a user account for this consideration or to find out how long it'll be before released?

Inappropriate?Hi Darren. You can submit a support ticket to request the username at http://twitter.com/help
If they've never tweeted and have no followers and are not following anyone, I would say your chances are good.
You can find out when the account was created by typing this into the "What are you doing?" box on your home page: "whois username" where you substitute "username" with the username in question.
For example, when I type "whois darren" into the "what are you doing box?" I get back: "Darren, since Nov 2006. bio: Conscious web designer and revolutionary. location: iPhone: -36.894562,174.804962 web: http://dontcom.com" -
Inappropriate?Twitter will eventually delete inactive accounts -- perhaps or 9 months or perhaps when they've implemented a new system for deleting inactive accounts. I created a site that will let you know when your desired twitter name is finally available so you can register it: http://www.tweettaker.com/
