Incorrect TinyURL with certain URLs in tweets.
When I tweet a url containing a pound sign, or hash ("#"), the TinyURL that Twitter generates is wrong. This is due to a bug in the TinyURL API. Twitter should use the HTTP POST method to shorten links via TinyURL to work around this bug. For example, the url http://blogs.opml.org/yabfog/2008/02/... converts to http://tinyurl.com/23wjmt on Twitter when it should be http://tinyurl.com/2bd953.

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem, http://favtape.com/lastfm/superbadgir.../Sitting%2C_Waiting%2C_Wishing is converted wrong on Twitter, but on the tinyurl site it works fine.

Inappropriate?Sometimes even the Tinyurl website returns an incorrect link, and I've then had to hack the result. Yes, it's the hash ("#") sign here again too.
Thus the forum link

incorrectly returns http://tinyurl.com/3kmueb which actually corresponds to
http:// viennateng.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=17531
i.e. top of correct page, but wrong post.
I hacked this to http://tinyurl.com/3kmueb#17531
which expands to the intended link and takes me to the correct post lower down the page.
(NB I intentionally added spaces to the long links above to persuade GSfn to display them in full here).
I later discovered that http://twurl.nl correctly converts the original link to http://twurl.nl/elutnt - which is even shorter than Twurl's incorrect result.
So now I use Twurl whenever I remember.

I have no problem with http://turl.us and it works fine. It also provides an option to view statistics and edit your url anytime. -
