My fiancee has received offensive pictures/messages via twinkle/twitter what can she do to stop it happening? Can we get the user traced and/or banned?

Inappropriate? There's currently no way to immediately ban users - however, you can block them by going to their profile and clicking the 'block' link at the bottom of the sidebar. Eventually, if the user is blocked by enough Twitter users, the company will notice and delete the account.

Twitter should set up a message board for women to post warnings about men on Twitter who sexually harass and verbally abuse women on Twitter. DanCooperMedia last weekend within 10 minutes "met" me on Twitter, made a crude come-on suggestion, and then blew up and called me names--and my 5 year old daughter names--when I (nicely) rejected him. I've since learned he's done this to at least one other woman (harass, verbally abuse), and I just saw him give a come-on line to another one. My sense from reading through his tweets is that he's targeting women he perceives as young and naive, and therefore ones he can impress--and when they refuse to be manipulated, he explodes. Some are going along with his shtick--as long as they are sweet and fawning, he's magnanimous. But it would be good to have a clearinghouse for women to identify and target these predators.
