Is someone blocking me on Twitter or is it a Twitter glitch?
How do I know if I've been blocked on Twitter, or if Twitter is just glitching and I'm not getting some updates?
I follow about 300 people (and almost the same # follow me), but I recently noticed there are some whose Twitter updates I'm not getting or that I'm getting only sporadically. One is a person who follows me & I never get her tweets; two are people I followed but who don't follow me -- and I've never tweeted them directly, so I don't *think* I've annoyed them. Three are people whose tweets I get only sporadically.

Inappropriate? If someone blocks you, you won't be directly told. However, there is a way to figure it out.
First of all, if you are using an API-based client like Twitterrific, Twhirl, and so on, simple send "follow username" and then visit twitter.com/username to see if it says "Following", if so, then they didn't block you - you must've unfollowed them somehow.
Or, you could simple go to Twitter.com/username and add them - and if it keeps saying "Something went wrong!" (like as in after 10 refreshes it still says it), then they blocked you.
I personally prefer the first method because if Twitter is having problems, it'll show "Something went wrong!" randomly.
If you aren't receiving their tweets and it is showing you as following them, submit a support request to Twitter support ( http://twitter.com/help ).

Inappropriate?Thought I would post here that I have just heard of a twitterati practice whereby some top Twitter users are blocking people that unfollow them or perhaps disagree with something that they said. This question and the associated practices seem to be laden with bizarre egotistical behaviors that are still highly unevolved, so I would expect the rules of engagement around this to change substantially over the next year or so.
