Is there a limit to the # of people I can follow?
is there a limit to the number of people I can follow? I seem to hit a glass ceiling at 2,000.

Inappropriate?Yes, Twitter has a follow limit of 2000, which means we can follow up to 2000 people and cannot go beyond that until 2000 people are following us. If we reach that 2000 followers milestone, we can follow more people as our number of followers go up.

If that is true, does it mean that to pass the 2000 followers limit you must unfollow every single one you follow who does not follow you? -
I believe the only requirement is that 2000 people be following you before you can follow more than 2000 people yourself. There's no requirement for your followers to be the same people that you yourself follow. -
Inappropriate? What's the logic behind limiting the number of people I can follow? I have almost 2000 following me, but because I reached the 2000 limit, I can't add even 1 more contact. It's annoying, especially their weird message, that looks more like the error message. I wish they explained this rule at the time when I reache the limit. I had to dig out for the answer.

Inappropriate? This problem of capping people to follow at 2000 makes sense if the ratio of FOLLOWING to FOLLOWERS was way off, but I have 1637 people following me right now, a ratio of over 5:4, which is very close to 1:1.
Now I have to convince 363 more people to follow me without following them back, keep track of who they are, and then follow them after I cross the magic line? This is very very frustrating and not conducive to building a community.
Twitter needs to change the rules on this: create a reasonable following:followers ratio minimum to prevent spammers. But don't create an arbitrary cap for responsible users...
