Inappropriate?There are a variety of third party tools to send you your tweets - from a RSS feed or daily batch. I have free email->sms so this would work well as locally we can't receive twitter via SMS.
FriendFeed.com will email individual entries on your home feed in real time - add your twitter friends there maybe?
