Is Twitter down??
Is twitter down? Im not able to log in on my iphone ,both on wifi and on 3g, on 3 different apps...and also on 4 pcs , i cant even reach twitter.com, but i can reach blog.twiter.com.

Inappropriate?I've been trying to reach twitter.com for 3 hours now and can't do it. At a forum I belong to, some people can reach it and others can't. My isp is ATT, does that make a difference? -

they checked 10 min ago and got on i can see tweets with friendfeed only. I am in Cincinnati on Zoomtown for my internet. I even had my provider check i called them and they even said it was down. -

Inappropriate?I can't even get to twitter.com through http://www.myproxysite.org/ because its telling me "Yikes! We need you to wait for a bit before trying to login again.
To control abuse, we limit the number of attempted logins per hour." Tells me to try again in 60 minutes. I guess thats from trying to access through several desktop and iPhone apps.

Inappropriate?I got the same response from the proxy site as Brittany. It's very frustrating. I guess it's down for some Comcast users as well because my ISP is Comcast in TN.

Inappropriate?Well I don't have Comcast, I have AT&T. I think some of the servers are down, and its seems its just in the US, though I can't get much news - Sunday is generally a slower day on the web/ news in general.

Inappropriate?Just a reminder; while the proxy site may "work" for some, you do know that the site URL it returns has "nothing" to do with Twitter. Do not give your password/information to sites that aren't authentic. For those who have change your password to reduce any problems that "may" occur. In the meantime, as a social media journalist who works for Twitter and other social media, I have e-mails into Twitter employees and should be getting a response shortly. When I do I will keep everyone informed. My research has showed Twitter has been down for over 4 hours, it seems to be a problem for everyone who works with my company; we have workers all over North America and Europe so this outage is huge.
I’m forced into Twitter detox!!

Thanks for letting us know, Amanda. I don't think the proxy even accepted my password, but I'll change it when Twitter lets me. I'm glad *someone* can get ahold of the Twitter employees, because they make it extremely hard - actually, IMPOSSIBLE - for us to contact them and let them know of any *serious* problems that are occurring.
I wouldn't mind that so much if they would just update their http://status.twitter.com/ in a far more timely manner. If its been 4 hours that Twitter has been down and they still won't tell us they're aware of it, it makes me and many others feel like they aren't caring or even keeping a careful eye out for these things. I doubt they actually are that way, but its how it makes us feel when they don't let us know they know.
I wouldn't be so frustrated and annoyed if they kept us in the loop and told us they were in the loop too. -
As a social media journalist, I have quite a good relationship with Twitter; and as an addict myself I have no problems in trying to get help. I received a response Usually "if they have a clue of the issue" they have no problem in telling me the problem is this or that; this outage is related to a DNS being down "somewhere" within the system. Just received a follow up, "this issue is a site-wide issue" and they have updated the status blog to reflect this. If I know anything else I'll keep you posted. -- If you are on the West coast you may be the only ones to get service but as they work it may be unstable (the only ones in my company to have access are the two in California).

Inappropriate?It's down for me as well. But I can use a proxy from the UK and I'm in Switzerland. A friend of mine uses an other ISP than me, it works for him.

"We are currently investigating a problem whereby some Twitter clients in widely scattered network locations are unable to connect to twitter.com."
They posted it about 20 minutes ago, but I was having unrelated internet connectivity problems.

Inappropriate?I'm only able to get Twitter using my Blackberry and Twitterberry with connection set to "TCP" My twhirl and just the regular URL via computer not working and haven't worked all morning.

Inappropriate?Not sure as to how many actually read comments left to posts, so I'll double what I said for everyone else who may not read. It seems to be a DNS is down in the system "somewhere", which is what I was told; I was also told the blog will reflect any changes or updates -- right now it looks like it's stuck on the same one we've all seen. I'm going to attempt to access it another way (I'll let you know if it works). Also for those who "need" social media sign up with FriendFeed (that's where the most of us are bitching at :))
